The Prince's Trust.
The Prince's Trust exists
to help young people overcome barriers and get their lives working.
Through practical support including training, mentoring and financial
assistance, it helps 14-30 year olds realise their potential and
transform their lives.
The Trust focuses its efforts on young people who have struggled at
school, have been in care, are long-term unemployed or have been in
trouble with the law.
Since the charity was founded by The Prince of Wales in 1976, it has
helped more than half a million young people. The Prince's Trust has
operations in Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland and every English
region.
The Prince's Trust has identified four groups of people who are the
priority for their work.
- 62 per cent of
participants were educational under-achievers, including young
people with low basic skills, those truanting and those excluded
from school
- 14 per cent of
participants were offenders or ex-offenders
- 61 per cent of
participants were unemployed
- 9 per cent were in
or leaving care
The Trust supports these people in a number of ways:
Moorside Rangers helps
The Prince's trust by getting young people who are on The Prince's
Trust Courses involved in sport, we give them the opportunity to gain
relevant coaching qualifications and become involved in the coaching
at our club.
